Member of the Lu- Hugh Jay Henry, 87, area developer, dies Hugh Jay Henry, a former developer and General Tire Co. vice president, died Tuesday of a heart attack at the University of Tennessee Hospital. Henry, 87, developed several subdivisions in Knox and Blount counties and named some of the streets after his children.

He served as vice president and treasurer of General Tire Co. for 40 years. He had served as president of the Downtown Optimist Club and as a deacon of Graystone Presbyterian Church. Henry graduated from Knoxville High School and attended the University of Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Henry; one son, Larry J.
